I'm Dreaming of Home

“I’m Dreaming of Home” is the movie soundtrack of the recently Golden Globe nominated film Merry Christmas. In the Christmas Truce of 1914, when the French, German and English soldier spent the Christmas Eve together, without any hesitation about each others hostility, in the film, they sang this very touching and nostalgic song while they are waiting on the very day, Jesus Christ was born.

I’m Dreaming of Home

I hear the mountain birds,
The sound of rivers singing,
A song I’ve often heard,
It flows through me now,
So clear and so loud,
I stand where I am,
And forever, I’m dreaming of home
I feel so alone, I’m dreaming of home.

It’s carried in the air,
The breeze of early morning,
I see the land so fair,
My heart opens wide,
There’s sadness inside,
I stand where I am,
And forever, I’m dreaming of home
I feel so alone, I’m dreaming of home.

This is no foreign sky,
I see no foreign light,
But far away am I,
From some peaceful land,
I’m longing to stand,
A hand in my hand,
… forever I’m dreaming of home,
I feel so alone, I’m dreaming of home.

Here are my Top 30 films for 2005. I have seen 124 compared to 166 motion pictures last year. The coverage period of my evaluation is from December 1, 2004 - November 30, 2005 which I follow every year.

I have also posted in the right side, the results of my best encounter with movies per category. Our very own "The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros" is not eligible since I have just seen it last December 8, 2005, but it is an excellent film, I hope and I pray that it will bring home the Audience Award from the Sundance Film Festival. I had a hard time weighing the merits of these films since it's very difficult to mix objectivity and subjectivity, but here they are. I hope you'll have some time to see these films too...
